EES Loss of Communication to Controller

The emissions after-treatment system (EES) lost CAN/serial communication with the main controller.

Possible causes

  • Damaged or disconnected CAN harness between EES and controller
  • EES ECU not powered (blown fuse)
  • Failed EES ECU
  • Termination resistor or CAN bus fault

Recommended actions

  • Inspect EES harness and connectors
  • Verify EES ECU power and ground
  • Check CAN bus voltages and termination
  • Reset; if alarm reactivates, replace EES ECU
